writing
Friday, August 29th, 2003I have never considered myself to be a good writer. I recognize good writing when I see it, but I am not able to reproduce what I see. There are so many facets to good writing; where does one begin? A subject. Yes, one must have a subject worthy of an audience. But there’s more… what else must a good writer have? It is a mystery to me. Like driving in an unfamiliar city without the aide of a map or passenger who knows their way around or even a GPS. I can remember being in several of these exact situations. Certain exciting and memorable things have happened… Just one memory was in San Angelo: I was pulled over by San Angelo Police for turning left from the next-to-left-but-not-left lane. Thankfully, I was in a formal and had my waco address on my driver’s liscence and the policewoman had a hunch that I was new in town and lost. Not only did she let it slide, but she gave me directions to my destination.
You always seem to arrive at your destination when you’re in those predicaments. Perhaps I will become a good writer!
