family of five

odds and ends

So today was advertised amongst the “team” at Target that we would be the host of the Target President… the store was in tip-top shape for such a highly esteemed visitor and every lane had a cashier all day long… 36 people standing waiting for the hundreds of people that were supposed to want to check out all at the same time I suppose. Turns out, the visitor was just the president of grocery or some food-related exec. so the clothing never even got a visit from the gentleman. I worked a short shift and proceeded to shop after my shift was over. I bought various items for snacks for our REALife group tonight and 2 items of clothing for me and some sushi… the total was over $80! I never realized it, but Target is EXPENSIVEr than “that other store!” but I didn’t use my discount since I didn’t have the checkbook and the discount doesn’t work with a debit card.

On other news, Dave came back from inservice with an official Leander ISD bum cushion. Since the school district had so many complaints about the chairs used for inservices being uncomfortable, they provided a plastic cushion with a star and a picture of the US flag which says in big letters: Leander ISD
I think it’s hilarious! His job came with a free bum cushion! HA!

My good friend, best friend, even, Becky Miller got back from Germany last night. I am afraid that she will be on German time for many days, so I eagerly await with much anticipation a time to visit.

Another friend, [name deleted to protect the secret], just told the REALife group that she and her husband, [name also deleted], will be parents in March! :-) We are all so happy for them both!

Yay! I have tomorrow off. Sort of. Lessons… Three of them at least.

I’m off to go watch Dave play PSO and try to get rid of this pain in my chest. again. -Jen
