Slick as a slug’s trail

It may have taken me awhile, but I finally got it upgraded. Welcome to the default layout of Wordpress 1.5 … now, it will take me even longer to figure out the bells and whistles of this here software and to get it customized. Oh well, so much for the chili peppers!

I did the upgrade in about 35 minutes uploading each file one-at-a-time (we don’t have an ftp client on our compy) once I backed up the MySQL database from phpMyAdmin and copied all of the WP 1.2 files into a backup folder. I haven’t figured out how to download all the files using CPanel, so I may have to hunt around for an ftp program to nab those off the server for safe-keeping on our external LaCie HD.

I am most anxious to check out the comment-spam features… I’ll be back with another update.

UPDATE: one hour later…
Two problems… the comment blacklist results in an error and comments are broken. I’m researching all this… I hate broken wordpress…

UPDATE 2: February 22, 2005 10:10 a.m.
I also just noticed that the author of the post does not appear anywhere in this “theme.” Templates are out, themes are in… gotta learn how this theme thing works…

Okay, if you must leave a comment, leave it on the pregnancy blog… I’ll let you look for that one. I think it will let me leave a comment but no one else… ??? This is messed up.

Apparantly, I am the only one who can leave comments? Like I said last comment, this is messed up.

I can leave a comment too.

Okay, there’s a big hoopla you have to go through to leave a comment. I wish WP was a little clearer in instructing people how to do it, if this is how it’s gonna work. Otherwise, WP can forget their new comment features and give me back the old way of doing it.
