First Movement!

Monday, February 7th, 2005

I first felt the baby move today at 5:15 while in the large practice room at Canyon Ridge Middle School teaching a 6th grader her AM and EM scales and tetrachords. This is the first time I knew BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT that this was the baby moving. All the times I thought I felt flutters… are questionable. This was for sure baby, and strong at that… probably influenced by the Dr.Pepper I split with David at lunch. Yes, I get to eat lunch with my husband at work 4 days a week unless his lunch duty falls on one of those days, isn’t that cool?! I’m 17 weeks and 4 days (although the doctor counts our week-change as Wednesdays and that would mean I’m 17w5d, but what’s one day, really?) and I am sooo excited!

17 week belly and a BU shirt!

Sunday, February 6th, 2005

Still in the pre-pregnancy jeans but they are very uncomfortable when sitting down!

Also, I’d like to thank the Knights for the baby’s first Baylor shirt. Gotta love Snoopie, even if he’s not the official Baylor mascot!

I’ve been feeling wonderful. Besides the old jeans getting tight. Plus, I’m eating all the time. Constantly. I think I’m eating a lot like I did my first year at Baylor, when I lost all that weight, but I think it’s healthier now since my hunger is so ferocious. If it can be eaten, despite how I felt about it earlier, it must be delicious!

Leaving for awhile

Saturday, February 5th, 2005

I just got this email from our hosting company which means we will be out of commission for awhile while I try to get all the crap together to do what they want us to do. I guess they don’t realize what a pain in the butt this is right now, but I guess it’s a bigger pain in their butt than in mine.

Hello,
It has come to our attention that several older versions of the various blog software contains exploits and vulnerabilities. This is causing severe load issues on our servers. See you later while I go download all the latest versions of all the third-party softwares we’re using… Wordpress and Gallery. UGH!

This is so freakin’ annoying!

FREE GMAIL INVITES - first comments first served

Thursday, February 3rd, 2005

Ok peoples… 50 free ones! … Feel free to comment below but include the following:

1. full name (gmail makes me fill out all fields and if I don’t have a name, I’m not gonna send you one)
2. email address (where I can email the invite — and please leave it in the email field so that it remains hidden from both the public and the crawlers looking to spam you)
3. a nice comment, patience, and manners are always appreciated.

Please do not request here if you have already requested somewhere else. I will be checking my gmail often for more invites and will start at the top of the comments list, and will STRIKE THROUGH your comment once I’ve sent an invitation so everyone can tell how far down I have gotten….

That should be about it. Hopefully this won’t take too long and google will go public soon. Yall behave yourselves now. Good luck waiting…

UPDATE 2/22/05: Please see my instructions for leaving comments in order to request a gmail! Sorry for the inconvience, but it’s what you’ve got to do now until I learn how to make it simpler.

Safari Screw-up Causes Major Muck-up

Thursday, February 3rd, 2005

You might notice that I ripped the background and some borders off this sucker pretty fast today. Safari stopped rendering the site correctly… the structure is still there under all the CSS but the instructions are just telling everything to be rendered white. At least it got THAT right. So.. I’m pretty mad right now and might have to spend some time on Saturday or Friday night fixing my stupid web site to work with Safari again. All I changed was the http:// part of a link! sheesh!

Anyhows… I’ve known for awhile that this site needs a facelift, overhaul, rebuilding and SOON.

Oh, and this is JEN, by the way… I just forgot to sign Dave off and me back on.

WP upgrade took care of the old template breakdown. Still planning on updating the site over Spring Break.
