Before and After

click pics for full-res ones. (I need a new layout for this blog to be able to post bigger pics)

Lowell’s birthday…

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Yup, he’s a year old!

Here’s his stats:

20 lbs 3 oz (10th percentile, tiny guy)

31 inches tall (between the 75th and 90th percentile (love how specific that is), tall little one)

healthy, but slow on all his milestones, seeing as how he’s not pulling up to standing yet or cruising (duh) but he’s also slow on talking and playing games.  Hmph, I’m sure he’ll catch up.

Just wanted to get these stats down on the blog for future reference before I file the paperwork from the doctor should I ever need them.

One new collage. Maybe two.

I updated our photos page.  Hadn’t done anything since July of ‘07 so I have about seven months’ worth of pictures to add.  I like having those collages because it gives me a good overview of all the pics we took and when we took them just in case I’m searching for anything specific.

David’s parents came down for Lowell’s birthday and we had a great time.   I will be doing the collage of the visit to the park, so be watching for that one on the photos page if you’re family or interested.

Apple does it again.

I just bought a shuffle.  A (RED) one.  For $80. Now they’re nearly half-price now, or slightly lower with twice the memory.

Go.  Stinking.  Figure.

Hmmm, let’s see if we can get you on the next flight.

This is James at the Children’s Museum in San Antonio. We went with Misty and Cara but lost them when the school field trips started arriving. It was more difficult than I thought it would be to take pictures and hold Lowell at the same time so most of the pictures are quite blurry since I relied on the available light and shot one handed with that stinking heavy camera. (Okay, so the camera itself is not heavy but the battery grip added onto it makes it hefty.) Here are some more pics of the boys.

No Menu Monday typed up today because I was still recovering from TMEA and didn’t get it in the computer yet. I do have it on paper, only handwritten.

Circle. James. Stroller.

Probably my favorite layout so far. Took me 30 minutes. Okay, maybe 45 minutes once I figured out the resolution was wonky (hence the circle not being perfectly centered)… I figure this is a good right-hand page cuz of that little bit of extra space on the left.

Oh. Yeah. Credits.

A little something that makes me feel good.

So, I’ve been nursing for over two years now.  James weaned at 13 months of age due to my pregnancy and the pain and a drop in supply, but Lowell is still going strong with 5 nursing sessions each day.  Low and behold, breastmilk has been found to contain stem cells.  Amazing.  I really feel good about working through all the difficulties and hard parts that come with learning to breastfeed (and breastfeeding a teething baby! ouch!) and giving my boys the best start to the rest of their lives.  I have no immediate plans to wean Lowell by any certain age.  He’ll let me know when he’s ready.
